Steve Jobs Has His Hand In My Wallet
Attention all Apple fanatics. Open today’s Wall Street Journal and you’ll find one of the most glowing product reviews The VAR Guy has ever read. Walt Mossberg–the Roger Ebert of high-tech reviews–writes the following about the new Apple TV device:
“We’ve been testing Apple TV for the past 10 days or so, and our verdict is that it’s a beautifully designed, easy-to-use product that should be very attractive to people with widescreen TV sets and lots of music, videos, and photos stored on computers. It has some notable limitations, but we really liked it. It is classic Apple: simple and elegant.”
That’s only part of the glowing product review that reads as if Steve Jobs wrote it himself. (The VAR Guy isn’t, however, suggesting that Mossberg is on Apple’s payroll.)
The folks over at CRN–or CRNtech, or CRN Magazine … just what is their name these days?–claim there’s a market for integrators that can set up digital homes containing devices like Apple TV. But The VAR Guy is somewhat skeptical. Who needs an integrator for such a simple device?
The VAR Guy sees only one problem with Apple’s current strategy: He somehow has to convince his wife to let him spend $300 on Apple TV now, a $500 iPhone this summer and a new iMac for the family in December.
If only The VAR Guy had loaded up on Apple’s stock a few years ago to pay for all of these new goodies from Mr. Jobs.
hey var guy: it’s not too late for you. every day is a good day to buy apple stock.
