SAS Targets Government Integrators
Finally, SAS Institute is making some noise again. After launching a channel initiative last year, the business intelligence company had gone quiet for most of this year. Then The VAR Guy started hearing some rumblings about SAS a few weeks ago. Turns out SAS had been intensifying its partner efforts in the government market.
New programs targeting VARs, systems integrators and independent software vendors (ISVs) are under way in the local, state and federal markets, according to Miles Mahoney, VP of SAS’ Global Alliances and Channels division.
Still, that doesn’t mean all government VARs should jump on the bandwagon. SAS has about 50 strategic channel partners. Naturally, the company prefers to focus on VARs that have deep expertise with business intelligence and database software. For more details, check out SAS’s government announcement.
