Session Offers Advice on Delivering Security Services
Security services and applications including access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection and more are now riding on the data network and can be part of a solutions providers comprehensive service offering. Today, many interconnects are already providing security services.
However, some channel partners have yet to move on the security solutions opportunity. In todays session, Building a Safety Net, two panelists discuss entry-level applications and how to make the right connections with vendors and experienced partners.
Panelist Austin Kosiak, a sales representative with Reliable Fire Equipment, will discuss how channel partners can offer security solutions via various partnership scenarios. In addition, he will define the various types of security solutions and their applications.
Most communications companies dont want to be security companies and vice versa, but there are certainly ways for both to do both, whether its directly or indirectly, says Kosiak of Reliable, which is a member of Professional Security Associates (PSA).
PSA is a confederation of security system dealers across the country and beyond. The membership of PSA consists of independent security solutions companies that joined to PSA to ally other members to extend their service footprints and increase their buying power with equipment vendors. Being a member of PSA is also something like having a seal of approval in the eyes of customers, Kosiak says.
During his presentation, speaker Bruce Loften, who is founding partner of MG Security Systems and L&M Distributing, will focus on CCTV opportunities for the channel. MGSS and its division L&M Distributing provide total solution-oriented local and remote surveillance viewing systems over VPN networks using IP-based products and/or standard CCTV components. MGSS is a member of the Technical Assurance Group, an organization similar to PSA, according to Loften.
