Bradford Networks, HP Launch BYOD Mobile Security Suite
Security and mobile device management (MDM) vendor Bradford Networks has teamed up with HP to build out a new Mobile Security Suite aimed at the enterprise. As MDM needs quickly accelerate, check out what Bradford Networks could bring to your partner portfolio …
The combined Bradford Networks-HP offering is actually quite simple: It’s an “integrated solution [that] combines Bradford’s heterogeneous network access control (NAC) with HP Enterprise Mobility Solutions,” to provide users with a streamlined way to maintain mobile device security on company networks. According to Bradford Networks, the solution will ease the deployment of HP and Bradford Networks technology on the network through this unique meshing of solutions.
But the real selling point for Bradford Networks is the bring-your-own-device promise. Devices can be set up, secured and provisioned so quickly that Bradford Networks claims not only is it a useful MDM solution, but it also will actually save you a few bucks. Leveraging traditional security with the NAC technology Bradford Networks has could make it much simpler for any enterprise to add-and-go with mobile devices, especially since the Mobile Security Suite can ensure PCI and HIPAA regulations in addition to restricting specific network access based on the user and the device.
Don’t forget, this is all bundled together with HP’s Enterprise Mobility Solutions. Bradford Networks puts a March 2012 availability date on the solution — perfect timing for the onslaught of device proliferation likely to come after Mobile World Congress 2012.
Device management is extremely important like you say above. One of the best ways to avoid mobile security issues is by staying up-to-date. I wrote an article of the differences between keeping up-to-date on Android vs iOS.

Thanks for the info!
Alex: Do you represent Def Security?

Yes,
What can I do for you?
Another comment on the above post. We attended a conference recently where Bradford talked about their BYOD Mobile Security Suite, it is definitely an interesting concept (though there are many potential security issues with how NAC is implemented). We are schedule to test an integration of this suite along with a in-house mobile application within the next month or two. I am excited to see how well it performs.
Alex,
Thanks for jumping back into the conversation. The VAR Guy just wanted to help readers understand whom you represent. Thanks for confirmation on Def Security connection. Feel free to send more updates as your integration efforts move forward.
