Ingram Assisting Hardware as a Service Push
In the shortest phone briefing ever, Ingram Micro just spent about five minutes telling The VAR Guy about a new leasing program. The program should allow solutions providers to more easily offer hardware as a service (HaaS) to their customers.
There’s no surprise plot twist here, folks. The initiative is easy to understand. Ingram is simply admitting that HaaS is a fancy name for leasing. That’s refreshing. For VARs, the leasing program eliminates the need to pay for hardware up-front. An official press release is expected later today. The VAR Guy will give it a look. (Update: Here’s a link to that release).
I’m a current IM Reseller in Chicago. We are interested in offering HaaS by our Company which in effect would increase our purchases from Ingram. I am looking for information on programs currently offered specifically details on other Reseller doc’s. Can you help?
Tom,
Do you want an Ingram perspective or a third-party perspective?
Someone who might be able to help is Jim Wittry at Churchill Technology Finance. They are leasing experts. You can find info here.
