ADTRAN’s NetVanta Customizes Unified Communications
ADTRAN, the networking company known for their communications and “last mile” work, says they’ve expanded opportunities for channel partners who are looking to target vertical markets. And how are they doing this? The answer involves unified communications…
ADTRAN is going to be providing a customized “Unified Communications NetVanta Business Application Server,” which means it has included the “unique ability to develop customized applications utilizing Communication Enabled Business Processes (CEBP).”
In laymen’s tearms, that means you can ‘streamline’ the process of tedious redundant work by customizing utilities that execute common tasks for a specific business. That’s nifty for the unified communications field, since there’s so much going on at once on the lines.
So what features does the NetVanta Business Application Server offer? Well, according to the press release.…
- Implement communications-oriented business process automation.
- Scalable to up to 200 concurrent calls
- Windows-based software solution allows implement cost-effective CEBP.
- graphical drag-and-drop non-programmatic service creation environment
What’s more, is that ADTRAN has injected some easy to use database integration which allows for queries that leverage data in Line of Business (LOB) application databases, using functions like dial-for-data, retrieve, add, delete and update to database tables. The NetVanta Business Communications Server also allows for faxing, both sending and receiving inside the services, and even a paging server, on the fly e-mail creation capabilities, and more. All of it operates simultaneously in harmony with the Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) databases.
You can implement it as a standalone solution with legacy PBXs, too. The whole idea is for this to be easy, streamlined and productivity focused. ADTRAN is also looking to help channel partners and businesses find a high return of investment with this solution as well.
So how do you get yourself one of these specialized unified communications applications? They can be developed for any customer by the reseller or through ADTRAN Custom Extended Services (ACES). ADTRAN’s ACES provides a team of design and development personnel that can work intimately with channel partners to develop a custom solution for any customer.
And hey, who doesn’t like custom made stuff? Anyone jumping on the custom-tailored UC bandwagon?
