Linxter Links Amazon SQS With Cloud Connector
Not too long ago we covered a little story regarding Linxter Inc., which provides message-oriented cloud middleware. Now, they’re launching an Amazon SQS cloud connector. It lets developers who work with SQS leverage “local encrypted transactional queues…” Here’s the deal.
The Amazon SQS Cloud Connector, like noted, does local encrypted transaction queues, but also Internet connection retires and other Linxter related messaging features. The ‘connector’ is available on the Cloud Middleware today, and Linxter really hopes developers utilize this new features to the fullest extent.
Linxter says that with Cloud Connectors, developers can integrate in mere minutes, instead of it taking weeks or months.
With the new integration, developers who work with SQS can take advantage of all the new ‘communication plumbing’ features that Linxter is currently offering. Plus, there was this interesting nugget from Jason Milgram, CEO of Linxter.
“The cloud connector for Amazon SQS is the first in our lineup of ready-made integrations. Our next connectors will support Twitter and Windows Azure blob, table and queue, with more to follow.”
Why did Linxter focus on Amazon SQS? Linxter notes that Amazon SQS is reliable and highly scalable. Plus, messages can be stored up to 4 days so long as they’re 8KBs in size and under.
Linxter is encouraging development too. Apparently, an open source sample app is provided with the cloud connector; it can be used as a test bed for developers who’ve never worked with SQS before, and help them become familiar with requests and formatting of SQS operation. Linxter’s goal is for devs to be productive ASAP with nearly no training.
